Explore your interests through NWSRA specialty programming!  Meeting the unique recreational needs of each individual is important, and NWSRA continues to develop the highest quality programming available, through outreach with community partners, volunteers and families.  Check out our specialty programming options below!

Therapeutic Horseback Riding

Through progressive riding lessons, you will learn basic skills required to ride a horse. Riding lessons are overseen by a Registered Therapeutic Riding Instructor through PATH International. Riders will be evaluated and individual goals will be set on the first night of the session. No experience necessary.  Program notes:

  • Helmets are provided

  • A waiver and medical form must be signed before the first day of class

  • The program is held indoors

  • Riders are required to wear boots or shoes with a heel
